In Ito & Yokoyama laboratory, we study the material group called"soft materials" such as polymers, liquid crystals, and biologicalmolecules. Especially, we are focusing on the ''slide-ring material''system having supramolecular-polymer-network structure, and on the block copolymer system.

Professor Kozo Ito, who has been active for many years in the Department of Physics Engineering at the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Engineering and the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, retired in March 2024 and was appointed as a Special Professor at the University of Tokyo starting in April. On March 9, 2024, Professor Ito's final lecture was held in a hybrid format at the Media Hall of the Kashiwa Library on the University of Tokyo's Kashiwa Campus.link
